Energy & Climate Advisors is a joint venture between EEA Fund Management and Shaw Capital. Energy & Climate Advisors helped develop and launch the Leaf Clean Energy Company and currently serves as its exclusive management company. On behalf of Leaf, Energy & Climate Advisors sources investment opportunities in the renewable and alternative energy markets and provides screening, evaluation, and development services.

Simon Shaw
Simon Shaw is a Director of Energy & Climate Advisors and the founder and principle shareholder of EEA Group, a leader in the emerging carbon trading and environmental investment market place, where he has built up a team of highly experienced professionals with extensive experience in the carbon and clean energy markets that ensures that assets are managed to secure and maximise value. Simon has been an investment manager for over 20 years having started his career in 1981 with the life insurance group Equity & Law. In 1988 Simon joined the pension fund MNOPF before joining Clerical Medical Investment Management (now Insight) in 1992. He managed a range of UK equity mandates for over 10 years at CMIM/Insight, having individual responsibility for mandates worth approximately £3 billion and reporting responsibility for approximately £9 billion of UK equities. Prior to starting EEA in 2003 he was Insight’s Joint Head of UK Equities.
Dan Shapiro
Dan serves as a Director of Energy & Climate Advisors and President of Shaw Capital. He is also a Senior Vice President of The Shaw Group as global head of project development and equity investments in project and infrastructure asset transactions. Prior to his current position, Dan served in key leadership roles within The Shaw Group, including President of Stone & Webster Management Consultants, Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions, and President of Shaw International (Dubai, UAE). In these positions Dan led several strategic transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and alliances involving North American as well as international interests.
Ricardo (Rick) Nogueira
Rick is a Director of Energy & Climate Advisors and an attorney by training with extensive transaction expertise in the energy and environmental fields. At EEA, Rick leads deal flow origination and structuring in the Americas. In this role, he has acted as transaction manager for several debt and equity investments in the clean energy space throughout the US and Latin America. Prior to joining EEA Rick was a senior attorney with a Washington, DC based law firm where his practice focused on energy and environmental issues, particularly US climate policy. He also has extensive transaction expertise in emissions trading, having represented both Annex I buyers and project developers across a range of CDM projects in North America, Latin America and Asia.
Kevin McNulty
Kevin serves as a Director of Energy & Climate Advisors and Vice President in Shaw Capital. At Shaw Capital, Kevin is responsible for developing, structuring and arranging financing for equity investments opportunities for Shaw Group. Kevin has a broad background in power project development and structuring, privatization, energy market analysis, project management, and financial and technical analysis, including hydro, biomass, waste-to-energy, wind, and biofuels projects. At Shaw, Kevin was responsible for developing and arranging financing for several energy projects, as well as supporting in the acquisition of several operating divisions and technology companies. Prior to joining Shaw Group, Kevin was Director of Development at Intergen where he managed the development of a number of power projects in South America and the US.
In addition to the Directors, the management team at Energy & Climate Advisors is supported by key professionals from both EEA and Shaw Capital who bring a broad range of experience to support Leaf in valuations, structuring, contract negotiations, asset management, and due diligence. These professionals bring backgrounds in mergers and acquisition, project development, energy markets, and technical and commercial analysis to the range of transactions assessed by Energy & Climate Advisors on behalf of Leaf. In addition, Energy & Climate Advisors can call on experts from other affiliates of EEA and Shaw Capital to provide additional support on an as needed basis.
